How we calculate

Every chart here is worked out by a program, the same way each time. These are the choices it makes, so you can check them against any other software.

Zodiac

Sidereal, with the Lahiri ayanamsa.

Houses

Houses by whole sign: each zodiac sign is one house, counted from the rising sign.

Rahu and Ketu

The mean nodes.

Dasha

Vimshottari, started from the Moon's nakshatra at birth, with a year of 365.25 days.

Navamsha (D9)

Divided by the parashara scheme.

Why we check your past first

Before we answer your question, we check the chart against a specific period that has already happened in your life, not a general feeling. If it does not fit, we say so, and it is often the first sign that a birth time needs a second look.

Your birth time

Small errors in birth time can move the rising sign, and with it the houses and the navamsha chart. So we scan the minutes around the time you give, and tell you if the rising sign or the navamsha rising sign changes inside that window. If you do not know your birth time, we use 12:00 and say which parts of the chart depend on the exact time.

What the automated report contains

Facts only: the chart, the moon's nakshatra, the running and next dasha, the navamsha, and one plain line about the house your question is about. It never says a thing is good or bad, and it gives no dates for events. Those come only in a reply, with the reasoning and where it could be wrong.
